Jürgen Klopp was sent a gift on his 55th birthday by Die Toten Hosen, who sang a cover of a track that Liverpool fans created for their boss.
Liverpool football club boss Jurgen Klopp has been wished a happy birthday by the German punk legends who sung one of his chants.
Yesterday Klopp turned 55 and the Dusseldorf-based rockers took time out of their ‘ALL FOR LOVE – 40 YEARS THE TOTEN HOSEN’ tour to get the thousands in the crowd to sing happy birthday to their fellow countryman, before covering The Beatles’ track I Feel Fine – which the Liverpool faithful adapted last season to make a new chant for their side’s manager.
Lead signer Campino, who is good friends with Klopp, used the lyrics which have been belted out at Anfield in recent months. They go: “I’m so glad that Jurgen is a Red. I’m so glad he delivered what he said.
“Jurgen said to me, you know, we’ll win the Premier League, you know. He said so. I’m in love with him and I feel fine.”
Klopp is celebrating his birthday with family, with Liverpool not due to return for pre-season until later this month.
