The bands have rescheduled their U.S. tour dates for August-October 2021. This time it looks like it will go ahead!
The From Boston to Berkeley II co-headlining tour from punk icons Dropkick Murphys and Rancid has been rescheduled. The new tour dates have been announced from August to October. With the tour’s co-headlining status, the bands will trade off show-closing duties each night, headlining in their respective hometowns of Boston (Dropkick Murphys) and Berkeley (Rancid).
From Boston to Berkeley II (a follow up from their 2017 tour) will have the bands taking special guests, The Bronx on the road for most dates.
Recently a press release stated – “The U.S. trek–which was originally scheduled for May of 2020–runs from August 10 – October 16 and will also feature festival appearances by Dropkick Murphys and Rancid at Riot Fest in Chicago on September 18 and Aftershock in Sacramento on October 8.”
Adding to the press, Rancid’s Tim Armstrong said, “Looking forward to hitting the road with the Dropkick Murphys again for the second edition of our Boston To Berkeley Tour. Our good buddies The Bronx will be joining us on tour as well. See ya in the pit!” While Dropkick Murphys’ Ken Casey commented, “Can’t wait to get back out there and kick the touring door open again. This is a great lineup and we are gonna take the country by storm.”
The bands have a history beyond being two iconic punk bands. Rancid’s singer/guitarist and Hellcat Records president Tim Armstrong, signed Dropkick Murphys to his label back in 2017 when band mate, vocalist/guitarist Lars Frederiksen, discovered them through a friend.
As for new music, Dropkick Murphys released a new album, Turn Up That Dial, in late April, while Rancid’s most recent record is 2017’s Trouble Maker. However a recent Instagram post from Rancid drummer Branden Steineckert, hints at new music from the band possibly coming soon.

Everyone should have a soundtrack playing loudly in the background of their life. I was born moshing to my own beat and have never swayed from my love of music. Spreading my passion through the written word is my soul’s purpose. My punk heart beats loudly with the rhythm of my rock soul. I plan to continue to mosh like no one gives a shit.
