La Armada Launches New Video and Pre-Orders For Upcoming Album

The Chicago by way of the Dominican Republic 5-piece unveil the brand new music video for their new album Anti-Colonial Vol. 2

La Armada’s newest offering is a ferociously defiant album that looks to push heavy music into new spaces. The record is an impassioned mix of hardcore, Chicago punk and also Afro-Taino elements from their Caribbean culture.

As a result, the songs range from soothing grooves to fast-paced brutal anthems, all made deeply satisfying, largely in part to new vocalist Casper Torres. Consequently, the vocals emerge with a rage-filled delivery that will have everyone ready to put their fist in the air.

For the music video, the band collaborated with Dominican-Born, Berlin-based, contemporary dance artist Tatiana Mejia.

On the video, the band commented, ‘This is our call for us all to reflect on overconsumption, greed, and selfishness in the digital age. Moreover, the effects that this has on our minds and on the planet. Colonialism is not just physical harm. It lives through the influences we allow into ourselves.’

In addition, they continued, ‘The challenge was to interpret the chorus of the song, “Who or what is it that conquers me?” / “¿Quién o qué me conquista?” With this collaboration between the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, we continue to leave our mark in heavy music. Above all, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.’

Anti-Colonial Vol. 2 is out on February 11th and pre-orders have launched for the new album at www.laarmadamusic.com.
