Dexter Holland Reveals The Offspring are “On a Roll” and Their New Album will be out Early 2024

With creative juices flowing in the studio, and the current North American tour with Sum 41 and Simple Plan underway, Dexter Holland says The Offspring are only "four-ish songs away" from finishing their new album.

The Offspring is back in the studio and apparently, those creative juices are flowing! Frontman Dexter Holland recently spilt the beans in an interview with The Orange County Register, revealing that the iconic band is hard at work crafting their highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s ‘Let The Bad Times Roll’. According to  Dexter the album is slated to hit the stores early next year.

The Offspring has again enlisted the legendary Bob Rock (of Mötley Crüe and Metallica fame) whose masterful touch has graced the band’s last three albums, solidifying his role as an integral part of their sonic evolution.

Dexter, divulged their relentless approach to recording. “We’re on a roll. We figured let’s do it. Let’s keep on doing it now,” he stated. The band’s unconventional recording process involves diving into the studio for short bursts of creative intensity, focusing their energy on one song at a time. With six tracks in the bag and only a few left to complete, the finish line is in sight.

“I think we’ll get something out early next year,” Holland added, leaving fans salivating for what’s to come.

When it comes to the album’s overall artistic direction, Holland’s creative vision is taking shape with each passing day. Drawing inspiration from their previous LP  ‘Americana’, he revealed how the themes of an album often reveal themselves organically. “Sometimes you just start writing songs, and you don’t realise how an album is coming together until it’s almost there,” he explained. “We’re kind of still in that phase with the songs, but we’ve always liked the energy of punk music and the rebelliousness. What I’m focusing on right now is just melody. I want the songs to be really good.”

As excitement builds for their upcoming release, The Offspring are currently dominating stages across North America on their tour alongside Sum 41 and Simple Plan. However, this tour marks the end of an era for Sum 41, as they bid farewell to their fans after the final notes fade away. Full tour dates Below!
