Fed up with lying politicians? So are LiVES! On UK election day the band has something to say..
Melodic, Angry, Visceral and LOUD! “I f***ing hate how lame we’ve all become” sings former The Sea front man Peter Chisholm on the new LiVES single ‘Cancelled’.
Out on 19th July on Roulette Records, ‘Cancelled‘ is a raw, unapologetic, guitar driven song that makes for one hell of a tasty racket! A timely reflection of the hypocrisy all around, in the midst of a general election. The second offering from the forthcoming album ‘Let Them Eat Cake’ (out on 25th October), produced by John Cornfield (Muse, Oasis, The Verve, New Model Army, Supergrass, Razorlight, Robert Plant, Stone Roses). ‘Cancelled’ follows lead single ‘Come Together#2’, which was co-written by 5 x Brit Award Winner James Morrison.
Reflecting on ‘Cancelled’ singer/songwriter Peter states – “Cancelled is about my feeling of disenfranchisement of online and political society, my total despondence and hatred of the right AND the left, far right and postmodernism attitudes.. They claim to be decent whilst being indecent, tolerant whilst being intolerant.. always outraged, self righteous, aggressive, violent.. they are swimming in hypocrisy and can’t see it. Meanwhile the real elite destroy the world around us, seemingly unnoticed whilst we fight amongst ourselves. I hate them all!!”

LiVES were formed by Peter Chisholm formerly of cult UK rock duo (along with his brother Alex) The Sea, who released 3 studio albums and played over 1000 concerts and festivals (inc: Glastonbury, CMJ, SXSW, Eurosonic, and supported Muse and The Kills on UK/European tours). Coupling their aggressive soundscape with explicit socio-political lyrics, LiVES make music for the disenfranchised, for the people that don’t belong…
LiVES are:

Dan Billing – Bass & Backing vocals
“Somewhere between The White Stripes and QOTSA…rock stripped to its most basic ingredients, and played with absolute gusto.” KERRANG!

Sigh. Yes, it’s a cold Monday evening, but with four quality bands (including one that’s come all the way from Portugal) for only seven quid,
Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.
