Italian alt-rocker Dead Rituals has once again teamed up with Swedish dream-pop artist Francis Moon to release a new single, ‘I Could Have Been Your Nowhere‘. The song is somewhere in between melodic punk rock and shoegaze, pairing layered guitars with dreamy vocal harmonies, but still retaining punchy drums and fast tempos. This is the duo’s first collaboration since “Tangled Up” in 2022. Like a bright, warm spring day, ‘I Could Have Been Your Nowhere‘ envelops you in a multi-sensorial musical experience. Although the lyrics are sad, the music is heartfelt and positive; and though the singer is “Running out of ways to say goodbye” it gives the impression that his door is still open, should you wish to return..

Hardcore Swedish punk band Bloodtrust drop their sophomore full-length album ‘Silent Masses’ tomorrow. Building momentum from the three singles preceding its release; ‘Dissolve’, ‘Thicker Than Blood’ and ‘Strain’, the album is the band’s most dynamic yet. Bloodtrust fully embrace all their influences, offering an energetic pacing with more punk, hardcore, and even brutal metal than ever before. Formed in 2020, Bloodtrust channelled the frustration and uncertainty of the world into writing and recording their debut album, ‘In Blood We Trust’. Their second release is a blistering album of urgent energy that is barely contained across ‘Silent Masses’s eleven songs, which display an unbridled fervor of shouting screams, razor sharp riffs and a tumultuous rhythm section.

Emerging from Friuli, Italy’s vibrant punk rock scene in 2019, No Good have made a powerful return with their latest single, ‘Demoni‘. The track serves as a hard-hitting introduction to their forthcoming album, slated for release later this year. No Good craft a haunting portrait of urban dystopia, guiding listeners through a world where change feels impossible. Propelled by raw riffs, biting lyrics, and an atmosphere that echoes George Orwell’s ‘1984’ and John Carpenter’s ‘They Live’, the song delves into themes of oppression and defiance, thereby staying true to the band’s uncompromising identity. Delivering a visceral combination of explosive instrumentation and razor-sharp lyrics, ‘Demoni‘ sets the stage for the band’s most ambitious chapter yet.

Boston via Rahway, NJ rock outfit Cut The Kids In Half was born when brothers Charlie and Jack Silver began writing together when they were 14 and 15 respectively. Pulling from a deep well of inspiration, from their childhood to fictional characters and everything in between, songs beyond their years took shape. Their debut album, ‘What We Became‘, came together over 4 years; vignettes of struggle, loss and life came to the forefront, soundtracked by soaring guitars and sticky melodies. The brothers’ teenage perspective adds sensitivity to their alt-rock sound, edgy but not jaded — their lyrics read like despair, but their songs sound like hope. Musically and lyrically mature, this band has an assured future!

Brighton-based gritpop duo Snake Eyes are kick-starting their year with searing new single ‘Hug Me’. Featuring guest vocals from Erik Heise of German punk chart toppers Pabst, the single is another caustic slice of churning, gritty, guitar-fuelled pop from the band. Fresh from supporting rising uk punk duo The Meffs, they are currently supporting Australia’s Dune Rats, retiring icons You Me At Six on their farewell tour, and Hastings punx Kid Kapichi. Vocalist Jim Heffy says: “’Hug Me‘ is a song close to my heart. I was signed off work with an anxiety disorder in 2023, and it was one of the darkest periods of my life. I wrote these words when I was trying to make sense of what had happened to me and what was next. it’s a song about recovery, love and empathy”.

Usually found jumping around down the front at gigs, I also relish taking photos and videos, singing, speaking with fellow music fans, and asking musicians the questions nobody else does. Writing about my favourite bands and connecting with people who love music too keeps me more-or-less sane! I’ve worked for over 25 years at a video production company, mainly filming live music events, therefore I have an additional backstage perspective on the scene.
