The single, ‘It’s Not That Easy’ is a track off The Sleights’ upcoming self-titled EP, due out on December 21, 2021 on Encapsulated Records.
“It’s Not That Easy’ is a slightly darker step away from our last record,” the band says in a statement. “We had new material we felt could stand alone as an EP, and the songs run a little longer than our previous material because we spent much more time crafting lyrics and leads.”
The track touches on themes of social alienation, near-death experiences, and problems trusting those around you. It discusses the frustration of working in a band, or any group for that matter, and trying to keep the whole thing afloat.
“Something that is often more easily said than done,” the band adds.
Formed in early 2014, the four-piece have self-released five EPs, one LP, and played shows throughout their home state of Colorado, as well as multiple tours throughout the Midwest and West Coast.
Pulling from its strong punk rock and rock & roll roots, the band keeps the music short and simple, and the live shows fast and fun.
