Rapper turned pop-punk artist, Futuristic goes back to his musical roots with his latest track.
Continually one to challenge expectations, Futuristic is blurring the lines between genres on his new single, Gucci. The explosive new pop-punk-meets-hip-hop track is out now.
Futuristic shares: “Gucci is based around the thought of paying $900 for shoes and living an extravagant lifestyle. It makes you want to dance and elevate your fashion. The track takes you down a rabbit hole of why people live above their means and invest in materialistic items.”
In honour of the new single, Futuristic is holding a new and used shoe drive for homeless and children’s organizations. The collection will be held at Guest List in Tempe, Arizona. He has additionally decided to auction off the Gucci shoes worn in his new music video, along with some of his own personal collection, to help raise further funds.
Growing up around music from his father and eight siblings, it was inevitable that Futuristic would be a natural. The household was filled with hip-hop, rock, and pop vibes, giving the young artist an eclectic palate.
He hit the scene in 2012 with the release of his first album Dream Big taking off in all directions. His albums The Rise and Coast 2 Coast premiered in the top 10 on Billboard in 2015. This milestone landed him on Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, and Good Day New York. His collaboration with superstar NF is now over 56 million streams on Spotify alone. This adds to the list of 63 other songs that have surpassed the 1 million stream milestone.
Futuristic has conquered a variety of other endeavours outside of music. He opened a clothing store, landing his own clothing line in over 100 retail stores. He is an author, partner in film properties, runs a management company and is starting the one-stop-shop for artists Indie Amplify.
Moving forward, he has refocused on music, digging back into some of his early rock and pop roots for his upcoming project Never 2 Late. Ahead of his time, Futuristic plans to live up to his name with a new genre-bending sound, unlike anything you’ve ever heard.
Listen to Gucci now on all streaming services.
