Iconic Jersey Shore Punk Bar The Brighton Suddenly Closes

After surviving for 34 years, the legendary Long Branch punk bar unexpectedly shuts its doors. Another COVID casualty?

The Asbury Park Press has reported that The Brighton Bar in Long Branch has surprised bands and locals but unexpectedly closing its doors. The last post on the punk bars Facebook page was on March 20th, and according to local bands, the last live performance was on March 21, the March 21 RetroSonics show.

While there hasn’t been any official comment from the owner Greg Macolino, Steve Ferrigno of the band Quiet Ones told The Asbury Park Press that all of the Brighton Bar shows had been cancelled with no rescheduled dates. Various other bands and promoters have confirmed this to be the case.
