Sydney’s enthralling post-punk four-piece, Mere Women, has today unveiled the arresting new single Romantic Notions – the title track from the band’s highly anticipated fourth album.
With a release date set for Friday 5 March 2021, Romantic Notions will be the first album from the band since its critically acclaimed 2017 LP Big Skies.
The single, Romantic Notions, is described by the band’s press release as being ‘pensive, profound and at once ostensibly urgent and unnerving. The song captures the overwhelming intensity of obsessive love and control whilst sharing often uncomfortable truths relating to women’s lived experiences.’
‘The video produced entirely by the band, journeys through the overpowering feelings of being under someone’s control, toward the liberation of both breaking free from dominant shackles and realising deep inner desires.’
