Post-Punk Scuzz rockers DOLIUM release 4-CD box set to celebrate 20th anniversary!

A huge collection of music from the recently reunited Sheffield rockers!

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Sister 9 Recordings — and as part of their celebrations, the label are releasing a special Limited Edition 4 CD Set ‘The Products Of Our Own Demands And Commands‘, which tells the story of Rhys Bloodjoy (aka Reece Adamo)’s first band, lo-fi/post-punk/scuzz-rock label-founders, Dolium.

In their early days, Dolium caused quite a buzz on the UK underground music scene; first in 1999/2000 with their sonic assault on the city of Sheffield — and then some years later, when their 2004 DIY debut single quickly caught the attention of BBC radio legend, John Peel.

The rest, as they say, is history… The band decided to go on an indefinite hiatus in 2010, only to reform in 2024 with the original line-up to celebrate both the box set release and the anniversary of their label.

Dolium are:
Reece Adamo – Voice/Guitar – Originally from Sheffield, Reece reinvented himself both musically and creatively as Rhys Bloodjoy during Dolium’s hiatus.
Ms De Vine – Bass/Voice- Originally from Kent, Ms De Vine moved to Leeds in her teens, and not long after, crossed paths with Reece, and ultimately, formed the band.
Simon Himsworth – Drums – Originally from Halifax, Simon relocated to York in 2004 and the band lost touch until 2024, unexpectedly reuniting during the 20th Anniversary of Sister 9!

Take the journey and discover the roots of Sister 9 with this stunning collection, which includes Dolium’s entire discography (all newly remastered by Rhys Bloodjoy in the S9 Studio), plus many unheard recordings, including their long-lost, unreleased third album, Brother Transistor. A lead single ‘Get Off On My Machine’ and a second single ‘Transmission Impossible’, as well as a 4-track video EP titled ‘The Brother Transistor Video Series’ featuring both singles + two extra tracks, all from the third album

The box set features 76 tracks, spread out over four discs: CD1: ‘Kisses Fractures‘ (2005 Debut Album) + Bonus Tracks & ‘Teenagers‘ EP (2006) | CD2: ‘Hellhounds On The Prowl‘ (2008 2nd Album) + Bonus Tracks & ‘El Vampiro Attack!‘ EP (2008) | CD3: ‘Brother Transistor‘ (Unreleased 3rd Album) + Bonus Tracks | CD4: ‘66.6 Miles And The F-Machine‘ (Early 4-Track Demos) + Rarities (1998-2003)

Their story is presented in a striking full colour 32-page booklet, featuring art and photography, as well as extensive sleeve notes by the band and their management, plus one or two surprises!

Out TODAY, the boxset can be ordered HERE

We’ll leave you with the words of  ex-The Smiths drummer Mike Joyce, DJ:  “I fuckin’ love it.”
