RISE AGAINST Drop First New Music in Three Years

Chicago punk rockers Rise Against mourn the death of the American dream on their new single ‘Broken Dreams, Inc‘. The track is taken from the soundtrack to new DC Comics animation Dark Nights: Death Metal the new Batman comic from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. The comic is a follow up to the widely successful 2017 Dark Nights: Metal.

On Monday, the first animated episode of Dark Nights: Death Metal was released. The video features Black Veil Brides‘ Andy Biersack as the voice of Batman.

Tim Mcilrath has said he is honoured to have Rise Against included on the comic’s soundtrack.

“Personally, being involved with this soundtrack is really fantastic,” he says. “Growing up, my little brother and I would ride our bikes to the newsstand near our house and spend all our money on the latest comic books, and Batman was a favourite.”

Rise Against frontman, Mcilrath has given us an insight into the track, “Broken Dreams, Inc. speaks to today’s changing landscape of American society, the opportunities that are available to some but not to others, the people who are able to benefit versus those who get left behind, suffer and end up as casualties,” he explains. “How do we level the playing field so everyone can have a real chance at attaining the American dream? One word: ‘disruption’.

“You have to put power into the hands of the people, not business, ” Mcilrath continues. “You have to value people and community over profit.  You can’t have a shareholder-run country or a shareholder-run world, a world that values profit above all else, because profit above all else can result in dangerous repercussions for humankind.”

Broken Dreams, Inc is now available for streaming on all platforms.
