The Sydney-based lads latest earworm of a single now has a brilliant accompanying music vid! Place this one LOUD!
Sydney-based punk band FANGZ have just revealed a humorous music video for their new single ‘Won’t Be Me’ – filmed, directed and edited by Rhys Bennett (Polish Club, Totally Unicorn).
Shot predominantly at a cocktail bar and restaurant called Snacky Chan’s in Annandale, the clip focuses on a frayed couple, played by Callum Reilly and Sarah Bernardo, going on a deplorable date where the band members of FANGZ wreak havoc as restaurant staff, while also performing the song. Featuring vivid quick-cut editing, eccentric characters and cunning hilarity, the video is a restorative spectacle that attests to the group’s light-hearted spirit.
Bassist and songwriter Jameel Majam talks about the story behind the clip:
“The clip follows a couple in a less than perfect relationship going out on a date to a restaurant. From the get-go, they’re greeted by a terrible Uber driver who really sets the tone for the rest of the evening. They arrive at the restaurant expecting a nice evening, but unfortunately for them, this subpar establishment is run by the semi-professional punk band FANGZ.
“The lack of hygiene, etiquette and basic understanding of running a fine-dining eatery seems to further stoke the flames of this relationship. Eventually, the girlfriend of the pair leaves as the young suitor is left with the bill and a lonesome Uber ride home.”
Alongside the video, FANGZ recently announced a 20-date national headline tour, including an appearance at the rescheduled Halloween Hysteria festival and multiple performances in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and numerous regional towns. Tour dates are listed below.
