Eville
Eville prove they are not your 'Plaything'

Release Date: 14th February 2025
Record Label: Self released

Brighton’s bright nu-metal stars Eville shine with their first single release of this year, ‘Plaything‘. Selected as Track of the Week on Alyx Holcombe’s BBC Introducing Rock show on Radio 1, we have to agree that Eville’s latest song is more than worthy of its high accolades! Co-written and produced by Jon Cass,Plaything‘ takes the band’s unique blend of industrial metal, rock, goth pop and dance to a new level. Singer / guitarist Eva Sheldrake, bassist Jude Richards and drummer Milo Helmsley somehow manage to sound like a sonic battalion with their self-described ‘Brat Metal’. The feminist lyrics put the finger up at any guy who treats a woman as only a toy for his amusement – “You won’t win this game!” Look out for Eville playing across the UK, including at festivals, in 2025.

Hardcore heroes SPY have 'Seen Enough'

Release Date: 21st February 2025
Record Label: Closed Casket Activities

Oakland, CA band SPY has built on the foundation of bands like Bad Brains and Poison Idea, rather than following the current wave of metallic hardcore. Now set to unleash their latest release, ‘Seen Enough‘, no song on the EP ever overstays its welcome, instead embodying what makes hardcore frenetic. Burning through six songs in under ten minutes, every track is a testament to the energy the band has built up through relentless touring. ‘Seen Enough‘ doesn’t hide what it’s about: society’s continued descent, with diminishing hope for course correction. Their latest offering maintains the critical edge of their earlier material while expanding their lyrical scope, delivering a streamlined punch that hits hard through its runtime.

Silverstein
Desert solitude inspires 'Antibloom' for Silverstein

Release Date: 21st February 2025
Record Label: Unified Music Group

Celebrating their 25th year by releasing 2 albums, Canadian rock band Silverstein are set to drop part 1 – ‘Antibloom‘ – this Friday!  Heading to Joshua Tree, CA to lose themselves in the solitude of the desert, hey found themselves so deeply inspired by the atmosphere that they ended up with more songs than could ft on one piece of music – thus birthing the double album concept. “‘Antibloom‘ is a reference to the desert, the empty vastness, the harshness, something we experienced while making the record. This is not a concept record, the concept was making a record in this space, and while the lyrics/songs are not directly connected in any shape or form, the concept of death or mortality does appear a lot”. Real Sickies figure out what to fix first in 'Triage'

Record Label: Stomp Records

Edmonton’s pop-punk powerhouse Real Sickies have just dropped ‘Triage‘, the first track from their forthcoming fifth full-length album, ‘Under a Plastic Bag‘, out on March 14th 2025. Offering an electrifying glimpse into the band’s knack for blending raw punk energy with sharp, melodic hooks, the single was inspired by a harrowing car accident Ben Disaster and his family survived. After their car flipped on black ice, Ben and his wife emerged unharmed, finding their dogs casually on the highway. “As much as we wanted to go home, we went ice fishing as the shock wore off,” Ben recalls. It’s chaos, but real. It asks, ‘What do you fix first?’
