The almost legendary ‘Sunday Lunch’ series continues with more punk rock
King Crimson legend Robert Fripp and his wife, Toyah, have shared the latest episode of their YouTube Sunday Lunch cover series, performing Pretty Vacant by the Sex Pistols.
“The kitchen trio are back and by all accounts Pretty Vacant! Don’t miss this one,” Toyah captioned the video.
The couple has been releasing their Sunday Lunch covers since the series first began last year amid the COVID-19 lockdown performing covers of Black Sabbath, ZZ Top, System of a Down and loads more – all from their kitchen.
Joined by their masked guitarist Sidney Jake, the couple played their ‘Pretty Vacant’ cover in typically outlandish outfits, with Toyah donning full body paint. Willcox baring ‘almost all’ has become something of a running joke during the Sunday Lunch performances, (“It helps keep Robert young,” Willcox told the One Show last year).
At the end of the song, Toyah presses her husband’s face into her breasts declaring him “Robert ‘Boob’ Plant.” to which a muffled Robert Fripp cried, “help me, help me!”
We’re sure Robert was rescued, but what is unclear is whether the series will continue when Robert Fripp hits the road with King Crimson later this month.
More Toyah ?
